Note | Audience recording by Charles Nieland, remastered 2002 by TheTooleMan
Lineage: tape (unknown gear, unknown generation) -> WAV -> SHN -> Sound Forge -> FLAC If only the best performances and best recordings coincided! What we have here is one of the best performances of the GFTO tour. Wakeman is in top form, and really up in the mix. Jon Anderson is in excellent voice this night; he even makes “Going for the One†sound effortless. Alan White is truly energized. Steve Howe gets lost a couple of times, as does Jon once or twice, but Chris pulls them back on course. There are a couple of flubs that bring you back to earth, but overall the audience and band are in a rare groove. The recording quality is good most of the time. There are a few spots where the tape sounds especially worn, but the biggest problem is bass distortion during some of the heaviest parts of the Yes repertoire. It’s still listenable, and I enjoyed the show from beginning to end. TheTooleMan August, 2007 |
