Finest Worksong This set was part of a 5 shows seed of 40 watt shows from 87 and 88 (2/20/87, 8/19/87, 9/4/87, 5/20/88 and 7/8/88) The following comment followed the 5 shows: I have been having nightmares regarding posting these shows and I guess from the seeder perspective there is some good news and some bad news. The Good News is that These Shows Are Soundboard The Bad News is that These Shows have Diginoise. The quick story is that these were somewhat recent additions to the REM Trading Circles and the source of these shows of course contained this awful thing called Diginoise. I figure that for those of you that get very upset by this aftereffect of the electronic age to not download these shows. The reason that I think that these shows are worthwhile is that they offer some early glimpses of both the Document and Green years including an early version of Orange Crush, a couple rare finds, one titled 'Title' of all things and another song from the 9/4/87 show that was purported to have been written that evening. I would also include that there is a very deconstructionist version of The One I Love from 5/20/88 that all R.E.M. fans will get a kick out of. I believe that in some cases, like for the song Title, this is the best source that is available. Any of you that have the audience recordings of these shows realize just how god awful they are. While not perfect they are still a drastic improvement to what was available among traders.
