This is Crosby, Garcia, Lesh & Hart, sometimes known as David And The Dorks. 12/17/70 is of the band in performance; it may be a complete set. 12/15/70 is part of a soundcheck or rehearsal, almost certainly a tape run by the band for work purposes (as we know was Jerry's practice); reportedly there is a 49 minute version of this rehearsal tape also in circulation, but unexamined at this writing. DeadBase IX lists gigs by these musicians at the Matrix on December 15, 16 & 17, billed as "Jerry Garcia & Friends." |
