Master >> 3rd gen cassettes From Underground Uprising: This new source to the Led Zeppelin Live catalogue is a very welcome addition. Available only by downloading from the Internet, this is sourced from a third generation cassette copy off the master. Unfortunately this is not complete (we only have just under 100 minutes), it is missing a number of songs, and only the opening notes from Since I've Been Loving You remain. However the sound is very good indeed, a bit boomy, due to the venue, but plenty of bottom end. Not a classic performance, but overall a good standard 1977 show. (Jules McTrainspotter March 2004) Hot on the heels of the New York '70 tape comes this early '77 show, and like the former it too is available free on the Net. Part of this concert has been previously available as part of the 2CD set 'Gatecrush Riot' released two or three years ago but now a more heftier chunk has been made available. The sound quality is average (6/10) a little on the boomy side but the band are on good form. One interesting thing is after Kashmir Robert sings the opening lines to Candy Store Rock, a song never performed live, Jimmy also plays the riff but unfortunately this is taken no further. Get this concert free before the numerous Japanese labels release their versions in the coming months! (Yage April 04) |
