Excellent Audience recording - CMM-008 (Chris Milazzo Master) Lineage: Aud > Sonic Studios [DSM6] > DAR100 > Master DAT(48) > Sony 59ES > HHB CDR-850 via digital coax > CDR > EAC [secure] > Flac (Level 8) First torrented on May 31, 2005 (Seed #8 from my master DAT collection) Plateau's down to under -90dB by 7kHz. Although the show here is shorter with over a minute than version 1a, it has a much cleaner, better sound. - DISC I Track 02 & DISC II Track 06; level adjustment during these tracks - DISC I Track 06-09; PA problems during these songs - DISC I Track 10-13; stage monitors pointed to audience for these songs - DISC II Track 01; stage monitors pointed to audience for 1st half of this song Taping Location Electric Lounge: seated, 20 ft. from front of stage left (general admission) Taping Location Waterloo Records: standing, 30 ft. from stage, Jeff's side, straight back No remastering was done do this recording. Track numbers were created manually through the HHB CDR-850 CD recorder so they may not be perfect. ELECTRIC LOUNGE NOTES: Levels are adjusted during Mojo Pin when I realize my initial level setting is too low. There are PA problems starting near the end of Lilac Wine. Eventually the PA goes out completely so the band turn the stage monitors towards the audience after the Reggae Improv. The PA comes back near the middle of Hallelujah. WATERLOO NOTES: Mic attenuator is turned off near the start of So Real - this accounts for the jump in volume. Don't turn it up until after this point! There were at least 2 video cameras rolling in the audience for this - I have never seen either video. Performance took place around 2 in the afternoon. There are photos of both shows (including one of me in line to get my CD signed after the Waterloo in-store - with my gear still with me!) available in the excellent book "Wished for Song: A Portrait of Jeff Buckley" by Merri Cyr. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jeff Buckley's open letter written in Austin, TX, on November 29, 1994 at 5:10am Dear Everyone, I have to let you know a few things. First, the band and I thank you so supremely for your beautiful letters and words of encouragement, love, love? Love. We love you, too. Secondly, I am the one who cracks open the mail - so, yes, I have read you, everyone. I love you, too. Especially the ones who channel dead spirits from space and also ones who want to murder me. All my hugs and kisses. In hell, baby. However, I'm too busy... Too too occupied to answer everyone. Here is my gratitude. Here's my kiss for christmas. Here. All my love, Jeff Buckley |

Comment | After "So Real", the vocal mic stops working, so Jeff and the band goof around trying to start "Grace". Jeff plays some Black Sabbath-style riffs to test his guitar, which is working fine, but the vocals are hardly coming through, you can just make out the
death metal screams of "nothing on tour works!". An audience member shouts for an instrumental so they play a nifty little Ska number. The solo songs are sung at very quiet volume, maybe to do with the vocal mic problems at the venue? |
