Starclassic. Location: First level on riser behind dancefloor, stage right, just in front of sound desk, approximately 30m away from stacks. Notes: Morbid Angel proved to Sydney why they're one of the true greats of the death metal genre. Unrelenting speed, brutality, feel, brutality, finesse... Did I mention brutality?? One thing's for sure, they must burn up so much energy that they need Vincent to keep yapping on just so they can recharge a little. I had my eyes glued on Pete Sandoval (I am a drummer after all!) and that little dude was burning a lot of energy for someone who looked a little like a heroin addict on the brink of death! :) The sound was ok but it needed a bit more work than other bands playing at this venue. The sound guy was a tool for playing friggin' happy hardcore techno bullshit as the warm up and warm down music, which also explains why the sound was so bass heavy and at times a little too bright up top. This made it difficult to retrieve Vincent from the mud without making the guitars all too overpowering as well. Sorry guys but this is as good as you're going to get from me. Despite my usual rants about the sound quality, enjoy! ...and please, don't sell this bootleg, otherwise you're just plain old scum.
