After a quarter of a century, Mumia's fight against death row was finally over on March 27th of this year. The Third Circuit Court of Pennsylvania upheld the 2001 decision to overturn the death sentence, and the decision can no longer be reversed. This is part of what Rage and everyone else were pushing for at this show, and what many activists have been pushing for since his wrongful arrest and imprisonment for the murder of police officer Daniel Faulkner in 1982. However, the courts continue to deny him a retrial, despite the overwhelming evidence and testimony pointing to evidence tampering and witness intimidation on the part of the Philadelphia police during the original trial. In fact, another man, Arnold Beverly, actually confessed to killing Faulkner; his confession can be read at this link: http://www.freemumia.com/beverlydeclaration.html For more information on Mumia Abu-Jamal's case, information on how to support the cause, and information on the man himself can be found at these links: http://www.freemumia.com/ http://www.freemumia.org/ http://www.chicagofreemumia.org/ http://www.abu-jamal-news.com/ As for the show I'm posting, this is the first DVD I ever traded for and remains one of my favorite. The setlist packed with rare tracks, the even higher than normal level of energy in the music, and the dedication to the cause of setting Mumia Abu-Jamal free makes this a hell of a gem that no Rage fan should be without. Seriously, no joke, this is one of Rage's best shows ever. Thanks to Sabrina for making the background art back in '99!
