There are many small cuts between songs with a few songs cutting in very slightly. Shot from the stage on Krist's side (left) with a clear view of the band up until "Big Cheese", when the taper moves to the front right of the audience in front of Kurt, there are some obstructions from this angle. During "Even In His Youth" the taper moves back to his original position on the stage. The picture quality is very clear throughout but is fairly dark due to the lighting in the club. There are nice shots of all band members, although Kurt is often obstructed by Krist from the stage angle. The audio is of very good quality from both angles with all instruments having an equal mix throughout. Additional notes: Great quality DVD! Taper does an exceptional job of zooming in and out on Kurt, and tapes from 3 different angles throughout the set. Taper starts at the left side of the stage but moves to the right - front center during "Big Cheese," a Bleach era song, but then moves directly to Kurt's left side prior to "About A Girl" for some really nice close-ups of Kurt. Taper moves back to the left side of the stage to the taper's original starting point prior to Breed and remains at this position for the duration of the set. Krist sometimes blocks out Kurt from the left side, but the taper's very steady and often quickly reframes the shot directly on Kurt. Some very minimal blocking of audience members during "Big Cheese," but with that, the taper acquires some of the best shots of Kurt and Krist from this right-front vantage point. The band is more than eager to appease the crowd that's in very close proximity to the stage with some their early faster paced pre-Nevermind Bleach-Incesticide era songs. "Polly's" not the slowed down acoustic-electric version that would later appear on the "white," multi-platinum "Nevermind" album. Polly is a faster paced version, showing the band in their gritty intitial stages when they were still with a small, relatively somewhat unknown "Sub Pop" record label. "Breed" features alternate lyrics than the polished Butch Vig studio version that would later appear on "Nevermind" in 1991. "Breed" is the only song on the DVD that is cut short of its entirety, probably missing the last 30 seconds of the song's completion, and Spank Thru begins immediately. Set list is typical for Nirvana in 1989. Date of Nirvana's Denver set was later determined to be on 10/11/1989. When DVD was transferred date was thought to be on 09/13/1989, which was later found to be in error. Venue's dark as alluded to above with the occasional stage lighting showing Kurt, Krist, and Chad behind the drums in great detail. Video quality itself is excellent. No real generational loss as this comes from a VHS(1) transfer = VHS(M) transfer in most communities outside of the Nirvana community. The cuts in the songs are very minimal and insignificant, and are only of the 2-3 seconds of guitar intro, and do not detract from the overall appeal and quality of the DVD, which is one of the best transfers for Nirvana's state side tour in 1989. Audio's very nice from beginning to the end of the set. There's an even mix of the Kurt's guitar, Krist's bass, and Chad's drumming...and Kurt's vocals are not drowned out.
