First treed on Hempsall in July 1999, just a month after the tour finished. One of Neil's greatest tours imo, and with apologies to the original compilers, but the compilation was probably rushed and the editing was not so good. Listening volumes were all over the place with some tracks ending abruptly. Compare the original 1999 comp to the 2003 Europe Acoustic and it's just not in the same league. Too much crowd noise spoiled too many tracks and left the sound levels of alot of the songs far too low. I've gone through every track of the 5 disc set, editing out loud applause and screams & hollers where I could. I've used fade-ins and fade-outs so there's no smooth transitions from one track to the next like recent comps. All tracks were then normalized using Wavtrim with all songs now playing at the same volume providing a much better listening experience. Artwork included is as for the original comp and still showing CD4 Track 7 as 'Railroad Town' |
