Note | Well, I figured that since I posted the LAST date of the spring '94 tour, it might be
fitting to post the FIRST date of the spring '94 tour. As the first show of the US spring '94 tour we find the Ozrics a tad rusty perhaps? It appears that their last gig was in December 21, 1993. Might also be wise to do some serious rehearsing. Which they do; which you also get along with the show itself. The soundcheck/rehearsal is ~110 minutes, and extremely interesting; lots of jamming. Of the performance proper, I find the Ozrics a bit tentative, initially, but by the time we get to "White Rhino Tea", they are flyin'. This show is recorded very well, and my information is that it's a soundboard. This is another show received from Chris Nokes. The sound check is an audience recording, and exhibits a little tape hiss (although it sure sounds like it was recorded from the soundboard - you be the judge). Chris suggests that all of this was recorded on DAT - sound check & show, but is not completely sure. I received this show on Chris' original cassettes. He is not the taper, by the way. There is one small series of wierdness during "Dissolution", beginning at about the 5:50 mark. The recording speeds up, Jon's vocal is disorted, and other wierdness occurs - maybe it's intentional... To tell you the truth, I kinda like it - it's freaky at a point in the song where you expect a little "freaky". My only other issue with this show is that it was recorded at a fairly low volume. I tried normalizing it, but I felt the resulting tape hiss was too obtrusive. So, I have left the volume level as is. If you have good audio editing software, boosting the volume might be in order. Your mileage may vary... Here's the lineage from those cassettes.
