| Comment | The Early Show: It looks like the first 2:27 of Speak to Me has been patched from the R1 Master that was recorded by Nigel B. The rest of the show looks to be a full mono version of R2 2nd gen recorded by Steve B. It sounds relatively identical to the 2nd gen source that Shamil posted up on Y in 2013, so I am guessing maybe that is the source they used. I really see nothing wrong with this release and it sounds quite good!
The Late Show: This looks to be pretty much identical to the Obscured at the Rainbow [Triangle] bootleg from the 90's that is R1 and apparently recorded by Derek A. in stereo. This looks as though it has been remastered and or boosted a little bit, to it's benefit IMO. It's sounds quite good and again, IMO, better than the OatR bootleg. Here we have the benefit of R2 from the Reeling source being patched in for inner cut during ACYL about 0:16 into the song. This is all done with good care and sounds really good. What we have here is a very nice compilation of the Early and Late shows in their entirety. |
