Note | This is a great digital audience recording of a fantastic show. The recording is up front and well mixed. The audience noise is minimal. The vocals are sharp and well defined, floating well on top of the music. Dylan stretches the phrasing into new and wonderful places. The band is tight, and all instruments blended quite nicely. This release is a direct copy of a Flashback CD from the previous year entitled 'The Warfield'. The package is one of the worst ever conceived. The flock of penguins, shot with a blue filter, is an attempt at illustrating the title track. The back cover shows one creature, void of form, wandering in from the wilderness.
It's a little too artistic, too far removed from Dylan, and smacks of superficiality. |
