J-Card Comment | The Who 4/26/71 The Young Vic Theatre London, England SBD>??>CD>EAC>FLAC Love Ain't for Keeping Pure and Easy Young Man Blues Time Is Passing Behind Blue Eyes I Don't Even Know Myself Too Much of Anything Getting in Tune Bargain Water My Generation (I'm A) Road Runner Naked Eye Won't Get Fooled Again Pete Townshend's ill fated concept piece "Lifehouse" sandwiched between "Tommy" & "Quadrephenia" was never performed in it's entirety. On the evening of 4/26/71 after an afternoon of rehearsals and in front of a very small invitation only audience selected tunes from the piece were performed live. Many of these songs would re-emerge on classic Who albums to follow over the next few years and become classic rock standards. Here they are performed for the first time. On a 2003 deluxe re-issue of "Who's Next" this was finally released but I'm betting it'll still be new to many of your ears. Interesting to hear these songs fresh and before any changes that were made as they were released on subsequent studio albums. |
