Blockbuster Pavilion, Charlotte, NC USA August 25, 1992 A Doodee Music Master Recording Soundgarden at Lollapalooza '92. A short but potent set. This was during the Body Count "Cop Killer" controversy. It had been pulled from the album under public pressure and Cornell apparently took offense, so much so that Soundgarden was covering it during their set. You gotta love the conviction. Chris professes his love for the Jim Rose Circus Sideshow during the set. At this particular Palooza, I left after Ministry as I never cared for the Chili Peppers. We stopped by the Wilco to gas up and hydrate. I was browsing around and who walks in but Kim Thayill and Matt Cameron. Kim was amazed that he could find "King Dons", a cream filled chocolate covered cupcake thingie, in North Carolina. Hey, guitar gods love their Hostess snacks too. I also remember he looked at some bootleg looking country cassettes near the check out counter and bought one. My friend I was with was working at a record store at the time and he had some "Badmotorfinger" promotional flats in his trunk. He got them signed and gave me one.
