As backstory, I used to be an insane crazy Bon JOvi fan and travelled to see and tape @ 60 Bon Jovi shows from 1997-2004. Since '04 I have been initially excited at the new musical offerings from the band, but after the "newness" wore off I found TLFR, HAND and LH to all be just OK. The Jovi's are skipping my hometown this tour and I am too appathetic towards thier current CD/tour to travel to see them. I offered up my rig (which I bought for a show in '06 after previously selling my last 2 rigs when I decided it wasn't worth taping BJ anymore myself) to anybody on a board I frequent who wanted to give taping a try. Hello Kitty accepted and did a real nice job on this show. The recording has nce sound which required just a bit of mastering. I had forgotten the D7 loud pre-amp problem as I never used this rig myself (my prior gear was D8 and PDA based) but building a little audio filter was pretty easy. There are a few scattered moments of the usual fan screamers but nothing too annoying or frequent. Also in a few moments the taper must have looked around behind her or clapped with her hands over her head for a few bars as ther is a strange phasing that is audible. Don't let these small flaws deter you from DLing and enjoying this quite nice show. This is much nicer than my first attempt at taping and probably nicert than 90% of audience BJ tapes out there. Kitty is panning to grab Daughtry and BJ on the 15th as well. <TAPERS NOTES> Jon forgot the beginning of The radio saved my life tonight - he was walking around asking "what's the words?" very funny. Jon mentioned that 60 Minutes was in the house filming and then he and richie joked "next on 60 Minutes". Richie broke a string on Ill Be There For You The new stage set up is really cool and the video screens are amazing. There are four of them that morph into different shapes and the stage has hydraulics that lift the back part up and jon walked all the way around. it's kinda circular - much better than the country bumpkin set up that was at the pru center - good view from the seats behind the stage. Set list was pretty typical with my only surprise being radio. Show wasn't as "country-fried" as pru center. They pretty much rocked - even on the country junk. |
