| Tech Note | Grateful Dead Manor Downs Austin, Texas 7/31/82 Single camera audience It was a hot Texas day, so the band didn't take the stage until well after sundown. The stage lights were kept down or off for much of the show so as not to cook the band, hence the darkness of the original video. The videographers only had two 1-hour batteries, so what you see here is all that was recorded that evening. Technically, this show shares the distinction of occurring on 'Jerry's 40th B-Day' with the following night, as most of the gig took place after midnight.
