TRANSFER ----------------- Nakamichi CR-7A -> Hosa RCA cable -> LynxONE analog-in -> Adobe Audition 2.0 -> CD Wave 1.95.1 -> FLAC Frontend 1.7.1 Transferred by Mike Ziegler. Remastered by Mike Wilkinson, May 2007. PLEASE DO NOT ENCODE TO MP3 OR SELL! REMASTERING NOTES: All the over-driven segments of the soundboard channel were replaced with the audience channel, after I compensated for the delay of the audience channel, so as to maintain the same timing in the sounboard channel. The audience channel was Eq'd so as to sound more like the soundboard channel, ONLY FOR THE PATCHES IN THE SOUNDBOARD CHANNEL. The audience channel was not altered in any way. Aneurysm, Oh The Guilt, and Mr. Moustache, where the audience channel is completely overdriven, as well as the beginning of Sappy which is missing from this source, have all been replaced with AUD#1 of this show. The segments containing AUD#1 have been speed corrected, as well as Eq'd to match up with the audience channel of the main source of this show, which I suppose will be called "SBD#1". All the little clicks were neutralized. The soundboard channel was normalized to -0.1db, and the audience channel was then normalized to the same average power as the sounboard channel after the soundboard channel was normalized to -0.1db. Therfore both channels should be of the same magnitude. I took the liberty of replacing some destroyed sections in the sounboard channels of Oh, The Guilt, and Breed, by patching in other sections of the songs' soundboard channel. This results in a slight effect of a "Chorus of Kurts" or "Deuling Kurts", if you will, ie, Kurt singing with himself in stereo, slightly out of time with himself (which is his "fault" for not being exactly in the same time on different verses, as if anyone is holding that against him. Indeed, he's exactly in time with himself on different verses, but of course his vocal inflection varies a bit. On Oh, The Guilt I have decided I like how this sounds better than I like the sound of replacing the defective part with the other channel, because on this part of Oh, The Guilt, the audience channel is really overdriven, and the AUD#1 source sounds more different from the soundboard than I would like to hear. All in all this has been definitely the most brain-bending and tedious remaster Ive ever done, so it is quite unfortunate that the results cannot be "perfect" since there are many segments of both the soundboard and audience channels that are destroyed. All the changes I made were based on comparitive remastering. There were no speculatory or arbitrary changes made. Everything I have done has as much reason and scientific accountability as possible, and everything has been executed with precision and accuracy and finesse. Thank you, and Enjoy.
