Boston Garden Boston Mass 9-6-1971 "Listen, Listen, Listen to Me" Empress Valley Supreme Disc > EAC Wav > Flac Disc 1 introduction immigrant song heartbreaker since ive been loving you black dog dazed and confused stairway to heaven celebration day thats way going to california what is and what should never be Disc 2 moby dick whole lotta love inc killing floor communication breakdown organ solo thank you rock and roll from "The Concert File" "Another fraught concert. Boston was one of the worse places for crowd trouble on last years tour, so it comes as no surprise to fine that tonights conflict is worse (what a great opening) Where have you been for a year? asks Plant, trying to establish some rapport with the audience. The show begins well - the band are in POWERFUL FORM, but by dazed and confused things have started to deteriorate. Plant comments: we have to do something about the usherettes! referring to the security guards who are trying to hold the crowd back from the stage. Halfway through pages solo in dazed and confused plant yells: no no you gotta cool it! and page slows things down to a standstill. Plant addresses the crowd: listen, i gotta put things straight. we had a bit of trouble in new york the other day, when so many people got on stage that it fell apart. Listen, Listen, LISTEN TO ME!....if everyone gets on the stage then the police will stop the thing..." ok, very interesting show. sound quality is not for the casual zeppelin fan. the boot was listed as Upgrade and Longer Version. which it is. its longer than "Listen to Me" and "wreckage in boston" both by tarantura sources 1 and 2 respectively. 'Wreckage' is missing the final songs and stairway and 'listen to me' is missing stairway as well. sound wise is has much hiss during quiet songs because it seems to be either from a better generation or EVSD did not apply noise reduction. the wreckage version is very dull although if you crank up the treble it sounds much better. if i rated wreckage a 6.5/10 then this is easily a 7.5/10 Once you get used to the fidelity, it is an awesome show. page is on fire. during immigrant song you will not be impressed. but by the end of heartbreaker you will crack another beer, sit back and enjoy. there are some cuts as well, the worst in stairway just when page rears back and f'n wails. quite a let down. this is the type of show that mix masters love. the sound can definitely be improved through slight noise reduction and eq. maybe even some patch work on stairway and a few others. anyway enough of my bs. download and enjoy. As this title was just issued a few weeks ago, sorry no artwork but i do not have the equipment to scan the covers as it is a long box. im sure the artwork will be up on zeppelinart in no time. please let this run its course on ZOMB, before reseeding to other sites. |
