Palladium, NYC 154.46 AUD alt source MC (TFEC) December 27, 1976 The Palladium, New York City This is the STRAIGHT ARROW MASTER, an uncirculated alternate recording. Subjective rating: A- (better than the other source, in my opinion) Taped by: Mark Arouh Lineage: Sony portable machine and mic > AUD MASTER cassette : Maxell UD 90 > the Sony cassette deck at KABF - not a good one, no possibility of azimuth adjustment > Alesis Masterlink (tracking/editing/fills) > CDR > flac > Zappateers (with slightly EQ'd fills from Yojimbo's seed of the other source) Yojimbo source lineage: Audience master->CDR->EAC->SoundForge (speed correction, level adjustment, editing, tracking, patching in fills)->FLAC Frontend No equalization (or even level boosting) was performed on the new source. The fills were tweaked to more closely match the uncirculated version. The taper missed very little music due to tapeflips: only 9 seconds of The Black Page Drum Solo. The other tapeflips (and therefore fills) occur during applause and/or announcements. HOWEVER, two things happened during the intervening 31 years between the recording and this presentation: 1. Some time in the 80s, while trying to cue the tape up to a certain point, the taper accidentally hit record instead of play, and he recorded approximately 8 seconds of STYX over approximately 8 seconds of Black Napkins. These 8 seconds have been replaced from the Yojimbo source. 2. During the transfer process this year, after the original cassettes had been tucked safely away, some sort of hard-drive glitch lost us the first five minutes of Montana (as well as the unpatched subfolder). Sorry folks. When we do a more professional transfer of these tapes in the future, Montana will be something to look forward to. Until then, enjoy the filled version. 1. Intro 2. Peaches En Regalia 3. Torture Never Stops 4. Black Page #2 5. Punky's Whips (fill 12:52 - end) 6. I Promise Not To Come In Your Mouth 7. Honey Don't You Want A Man Like Me? 8. The Illinois Enema Bandit (fill 13:47 - end) 9. Sofa 10. I'm The Slime 11. Pound For A Brown 12. Black Page Drum Solo (fill 1:25 - 1:34) 13. Black Page #1 14. Big Leg Emma 15. Purple Lagoon 16. Find Her Finer 17. Manx Needs Women 18. Titties 'n Beer 18. Cruising For Burgers 20. Don Pardo 21. Black Napkins (fills 9:25 - 9:33 and 22:52 - end) 22. Dinah-Moe Humm (fill 6:01 - end) 23. Montana (Yojimbo source 0:00 - 5:18) (the Yojimbo version has an additional coupla seconds of applause after Montana which I chose not to tack onto the end) Seeded on Zappateers 12/27/2007 |
