| Note | Wot a story. Blues singer in the 20's through 50's. Went to work in an old folks home. Rediscovered by European jazz fans when in her 80's. She agreed to do some records & shows only if they wouldn't tell the nursing home staff her real age or they'd make her retire. Went on to make 5 lps and a live video. This is the first live show I've seen of her's for trade. Belts it out, wryly. Passionate songs about her man and bein' lively all with a voice in her 80's that is a national treasure. |
