commentary:
on the face of it, just another seasoned performer
entertaining a sold out crowd comprised almost exclusively
of drunk white kids from the suberbs. A warm summer solstice
'88 at the magical Capitol. Upon further listening
I realized there was something much much heavier going on
here. Jimmy Cliff has a message. My take on it was that if
we love ourselves and our neighbor than this place would be
a whole lot cooler. Not such a stretch from the time honored
judeo christian ideals. And you can dance to it.
