07-26-1963 La Pinède Juan-les-Pins, France Project ID - LL66 Source: FM Broadcast Lineage: OTRF Radio Broadcast > ?? > Côte Blues bootleg > eac (secure) > wave > shn Miles Davis (tpt); George Coleman (ts); Herbie Hancock (p); Ron Carter (b); Tony Williams (d) disc 1 d1t01. So What d1t02. Stella By Starlight d1t03. Seven Steps To Heaven > Walkin' ------------------------------------------------------- Notes: - d1t01: There is a big digipop at the very end of the track - most tracks are not continuous. There is a fade out and in between the first three tracks. - According to Peter Losins site, these tracks are also not in the correct order. - Per Peter Losin ( http://www.plosin.com/milesAhead ) All Blues, My Funny Valentine, Joshua, and the Theme were also played on this night but are missing from this source. - Nice sound, strong playing. A great piece of history. The "Seven Steps To Heaven" alone makes this recording worth a listen. This version is not seekable and is tracked differently that LL137. The sound quality is pretty much identical but LL137 has many drop outs and digi pops that aren't present or at least so prevelant on this version. - QC done by bgreen |
