| Tech Note | Buddy sounds good here, and it was a thrill to see him trade licks with Eric Clapton, but (as usual) Buddy did a lot of showboating and rarely stays focused on the songs. It's still worth listening to, just don't expect all the songs to end the way they started. Set list provided on etree says the last song is "Stone Crazy," but Buddy clearly sang at least some of the lyrics from "She's 19 Years Old" and I think that's the song that was actually played, although with Buddy it's not always easy to tell. Regardless, it seemed like an anticlimactic finish to the day. I'll check this out and update the setlist if necessary. The set fits on one CD with the second part of the Clapton set from the same show (I highly recommend that whole set!). |
