Note | This is taken from the third cycle of the "Dangerous Visions" program created by Art Zoyd and The National Orchestra of the town of Lille.
From 1998 to 2000, Art Zoyd had a residency program with this orchestra. Many contemporary composers were invited to write a piece to be played live by Art Zoyd and the National Orchestra of Lille. Experimental Video makers were also involved in that project. For the first cycle of "Dangerous Visions", Gerard Hourbette, Art Zoyd's leader, proposed to play an excerpt of his piece "Glissements progressifs du plaisir". For the second cycle, Hourbette wrote "Les Noces accidentelles". For the third cycle, instead of a new piece, Hourbette proposed to play an orchestral version of the first piece he wrote for Art Zoyd, "Symphonie pour le jour où brûleront les cités". This was totally unexpected to hear in 2000, so I guess this event could be called the "Art Zoyd's (unique) return to the future"! Enjoy! |
