CD > Cakewalk Pyro 2005 (giant wav file onto HD here) > Cakewalk Pyro 2005 (split wav file into tracks here) > Trader's Little Helper (encode wav to flac, level 8, align on sector boundaries) Quality - 7.0-8.0/10 very good to very good plus audience recording 21 tracks, one CD, TT: 42:46 This is the ENTIRE concert. I was NOT present at this show and never was at any show at Antonino's, which was a pizzaria on South Craig Street in Oakland. The venue was variously known as Antonino's Pizzaria, Antonino's Showcase and even as Antonino's Pizzarino, although somebody may have been kidding around with that last one. The venue has long since vanished. I was given this tape by a long-time Pittsburgh resident/tape trader about 19 years ago. He told me that it was a 3rd gen tape and I have no reason to doubt that statement. This is an historic recording, being the first time that the Ramones EVER played in Pittsburgh, PA, the Decade show that I recently posted being the third, I believe. That's about all that I know. Here is a brief synopsis of the recording, good points and bad... Good points: 1) This is a COMPLETE recording of the show. 2) There are no speed problems or other faults to detract from your enjoyment of the show. 3) There's virtually no talking at all around the taper. There's no whistling or shrieking. The audience is very respectful towards this young band from NYC, as opposed to the audience at the Decade in 1979, which was the last Ramones show that I posted. 4) All instruments and vocals are clearly heard. You can actually understand most of what Joey is singing. This is less clear than the last Ramones tape that I posted, so if you loved that, you'll like this... Bad points: 1) There is a faint hiss to this recording. It's very mild compared to some tapes I've heard of this era and generation. You should not find it intrusive. 2) There is just a little distortion in this recording but, again, it's not bad at all. 3) This recording is not as good as the other Ramones shows that I have posted and it's difficult to describe why. The recording is loud enough, certainly, and all of the instruments and vocals come through pretty clearly. I think that it's a combination of recording device quality (not great), master tape quality (again, not great), venue acoustics and band volume. All of these combine to result in a sound experience that is a little sub-par. It is, however, not that bad a listen at all, once you get attuned to it. This is NOT a recording for completists only !!! Well, that's about all that I can think of to say, so let's wrap this up. Finally, no buy, no sell, no mp3. Please seed this as long as you can. Please trade this freely as it is probably fairly uncirculated. This show will be a welcome addition to any Ramones fan's collection. I will post a sample to help some of you decide whether or not to get it. That's about as accurate an assessment of the show as I can give. The setlist should be 100% correct. If it's not, let me know. The Ramones DID play at this same venue on the next night, so if you have that show, please post it or PM me for a trade. So, as Mr. Natural is so fond of saying, have fun, don't freak out and enjoy the concert ! Hey ho, let's go yet again.......
