Tech Note | taper insight/nonsense: Never circulated this (other than a copy or two to friends) becaue I was unpleased with the recording. Extremely bass heavy, to the point where it wasn't a pleasing listen. I finally decided to do a little mastering, so I dropped the lowend by 2db rolling of sharply at about 125hz down to 20hz. This still preserved the lowend, with PLENTY left to spare, but made this a much better listen. This was done in Cubase se. Normalized in Wavelab 5. About the show, this was hands down the most absurd fob scene I have ever been a part of. 4 of us braving it out amongst the drunken chaos. I witnessed a full 16oz solo cup of beer dumped on Dave R.'s 744t. Thank god for portabrace bags. Also very windy, you may notice a little swirling of the music, but no wind roar thanks to the "dead rats" on the mics. Crowd was extremely loud, to the point of almost overpowering the music. And not by cheering, but by talking. By this point of the night, music was the last thing on anyone's mind, at least where we were at. As far as I know, none of the other copies have circulated though may one day surface. Enjoy! |
