| Tech Note | Total Time: 85:21 Notes: This was the second time in two years that Seinfeld has made an appearance in Topeka and he references it in the opening. Seinfeld also references "people with signs", for those of you that aren't familiar with what he's talking about: a religious group lead by Fred Phelps in Topeka protest outside of every large gathering of people in the northeast Kansas region, these signs often contain nonsensical and confusing messages such as the one that Seinfeld references that said, "Thank God For The Tsunami" (this was recently after the Asian Tsunami), after 9/11 the signs they used also contained similar messages about 9/11. Seinfeld also referenced them in the previous time he visited Topeka so by this show was familiar with them and used them for his material. While the equipment listed might make some hardcore audio tapers wince, i think the end result is better than can be expected using an external mic from a DV camera. |
