Taped by Jerry B. aka "The Govner" Tapers Notes: This is my first Metallica bootleg and even though the sound is not up to my usual high standards it is still a very listenable show! I was with my g/f at the time so I wasn't on the floor but in a seat on the side which was a good thing as you can tell by the first 10 minutes of this show as the baricade was crushed and it took some time for it to be fixed because the place was oversold! Freedom Hall is actually a large High School gym in Johnson City that is used for local shows.....I was there in 1993 when Metallica brought the "snakepit" stage and there was only 20 feet from the front of the stage to Big Mick's mixing board! It is about a 5,000 person capacity venue for a general admission show. Anyway......the floor was shoulder to shoulder all the way to the back and if I would have taped from there I would have gotten total shit for sound so I did make a good choice in retrospect! For what ever reason this is the only show I ever taped with 120 minute cassettes.....I have only been taping for 6 months and I didn't know any better! |
