I was wondering, I think this originates with the E in JEMS. The way this one goes down, and I am trying to remember back 13 years now is that a 32khz tape was made with both gigs on a 120 minute DAT tape (back when they were $10 a pop) off the analog masters. That original DAT was made for the amazing but long gone (BF whos legacy still has never seen the light of day), EP (may he RIP) or TD as I cant remember which. Then I borrowed the original DAT and made a clone for myself. Years later when the technology was in place I then put it to CD. I even made 2 runs at putting this one to CD, and this looks like the earlier. The first was done with an extremely average sound card, the second with the professional wt2496 soundcard. This lineage looks like the original run as it doesnt have the soundcard listed.

Knowing all that, whats the chance a JEMS upgrade of this much like the SF 84 tape could happen at some point. Just go straight off the masters, to FLAC...I bet it would be even more super than it is. This would be for the 24th and 25th of April

I know my versions of both of these came from Mike Duchek, seeded awhile back (year or so?). Would be very cool to have a fresh transfer off the master, as these tapes are pretty damn excellent.

Funny thing, I'd already had the d5 recordings, persic's I think, and thought they were great...but these are even better.

In comment #48132 MDuchek wrote something like this:

I remember the one I uploaded was a D5 with Nakbox in the lineage I think.

Anyway I thought they were all different transfers of the same recording, but I guess not. I guess I will eagerly await the new transfers.

The D5 masters are Persics. The D6 masters are JEMS. Echoing Oli's comments above, 4/25 with "Mothers" was the greatest U2 show I ever saw and that's saying something because we were sitting behind the stage. Good for taping though.

Butterking for JEMS
