Noteso after that earlier disaster with hundreds of our members downloading a lossy and incomplete version, today i offer to you all, the band, recorded at roosevelt stadium in jersey city,nj.included here are both complete nights; july 31 and august 1,1973 from new analog transfers from my reels.for those who don't know, the band only did 3 shows in 1973, these 2 and the watkins glen festival a few days earlier.i had the great pleasure of attending all of them and i won't soon forget the amazing feeling of seeing the band with the original lineup.for the 2 roosevelt shows i was about 20 feet from the stage for both nights.these were also jerry garcia's birthday shows and the dead followed the band in great form.

a little info on the recordings.the lineage is unknown on the aug 1 recording but as of yet i haven't heard a better copy.the overall sound is pretty dry and a bit flat as mentioned in the earlier banned version but that's just how it is.the july 31 recording is considerably brighter and a bit cleaner.this recording suffered greatly during the first couple of songs due to wild mixing adjustments and such so the first song is pretty fragmented and the second song cuts in.now for something most folks don't know.a long tome ago i was given an audience tape from 1973 just listed as an unknown location.at the time i didn't know that only 3 shows were done that year but after my initial listening, it sounded familiar and turned out to be the july 31 show.fortunately the first part of this tape covered most of the missing sb portion of the beginning of the set plus included an encore that was not taped on the sb source.those tracks are included on the end of part 2 of the july 31 cd.you can put them wherever you want or leave them at the end.either way, this completes the show.i'll include samples and frequency screen shots so everybody can be assured of what they are getting.as always, all info is in the file.
enjoy,
dave

always more to come...
