| Comment | ABC carried a special for the Fourth of July entitled Finding America. They broadcast live from several different cities, and spliced everything together, hoping from one location to the next. This made for a great TV production, but a strange concert. The person who taped this show, was supposed to have access, but the guards would not let him or his equipment through. So, having driven over 100 miles, he did the best he could. The mics were raised up over the fence from the parking lot. For those of you unfamiliar with Livingston, it is one of the windiest places on earth. This leaves us with a windy, distant recording with lots of firecrackers mixed in for some Independance Day flavor. Add in the fact that the parking lot is gravel, you have an undesirable recording situation to say the least. |
