The evening's purpose was to honor slain Long Branch police officer Sgt. Patrick King, and to raise money for a fund to provide for his family. Fans of the assembled musicians were in for a special night. For Springsteen fans in particular, the show offered a near-reunion of the fabled E Street Band and Bruce's first full-length electric gig following the acoustic Joad Tour.
