Comments: This one is a classic -- one of the best-sounding recordings to come out of Bruce's 1988 "Tunnel of Love" tour. I was inspired to post this because I happened to play my low-generation cassette version of this obtained during the early '90s the other day -- which sounded pretty damn good to me at the time -- and compared it against this boot, and the difference was astonishing. There is some debate about whether the board is better than Mark Persic's recording (which is used here to fill in the incomplete tracks; the full source is still alive on DIME); I think it's simply fortunate that there are two great sources of the show in circulation.

In nearly 20 years' hindsight, this tour wasn't that bad. It definitely has its moments, although I still feel the middle part of the show drags a little. If you're a Bruce fan and like this era at all, this recording is a must-have. Mp3 samples are attached for those who may have the audience source and are questioning whether to get a second source.

This file set is exactly the same as originally posted on DIME in December 2004.
