Alpine Valley East Troy, Wi. 7/8/00 ~ Set I ~ PYITE - perfect song to open a show with, nice version into -> NICU - standard, nice transition into -> My Soul - excellent job with this one Poor Heart - average Wolfman's - pretty decent jam, but nothing out of the ordinary First Tube - really enjoyable, although Trey did start up a pretty annoying loop for a few minutes towards the middle of the song Llama - standard Guyute - this started out as a eh reaction that in about 10 mintues turned into a hell yeah as they rocked this tune hard! Antelope - excellent version, great jam building up to the drop Really energetic set, the only songs that had any hint of slowness to them is the Wolfman's jam, but even taht had a good tempo to it ~ Set II ~ Heavy Things - unexpected opener, really well done...quite enjoyable Piper - Such a tight tight groove, this is definitely one of my favorite Piper's!! so smoothly into -> Rock & Roll - one of my favorite combos this is, good stuff Tweezer - as with the Piper, this has such a fluid tight groove, there must be something is the alpine air this night, gorgeous Mike & Page lead segue into -> Walk Away - excellent transition into this, the second version of the tour...well done Twist - this jam didn't seem to have much purpose to it Horse - always a treat to hear this combo, into -> Silent - beautifully done Possum - quite enjoyable...good energy throughout This is a very enjoyable set, the first half of it was wonderful but the second seemed to drop a bit ~ Encore ~ Suzie - tour debut, solid version yet they did skip the second verse and jam instead, into -> Tweeprize - nice thunderous close to the show Overall - a solid show, the Piper->R&R and Tweezer->Walk Away were definitely the highlights, other than that, there isn't anything too crazy, but there was a whole lot of energy in this show |
