-This was probably my favorite show at Jazz Fest this year, a truly fantastic gig, very funky, & too many talents on one stage to keep the roof on. The interplay amongst the musicians was incredible and you could tell that they were all having a blast playing together. The show was originally supposed to be the "traditional" Prescription Renewal with Skerik & Charlie Hunter, with Karl Denson, George Porter Jr. & Melvin Sparks opening for them. Charlie ended up leaving with his family for a much needed vacation, Skerik ended up playing with Critters Buggin', & Melvin Sparks never showed. This compilation band of allstars was put together at the last second and made enough magic to put a smile on every face in attendance...
