J-Card Comment | John Zorn's Masada The Knitting Factory August 1993 FM>cass(?gen)>Peak>soundsoap>Xact>flac John Zorn Alto Marc Ribot guitar Kato Hideki Bass Ben Perowsky Drums These are the first ever recordings made under the Masada name. Zorn brought this tape up to WKCR and broadcast these selections just a week after the first gigs. Includes some interview segments. The sound on this is not quite as good as my usual KCR broadcasts,as I got this in trade, and I used a bit of noise reduction, but this is really fascinating stuff for Zorn fans, as this line-up quickly gave way to the Douglas/Cohen/Baron quartet. And the Station ID's are hysterical. |
