Note | The FM broadcast was recorded on January 20, 1986 from WEVO-FM, New
Hampshire Public Radio. WEVO dedicated its entire day of programming to the celebration of the first observation of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. There are some noises in the original, unknown TV or radio recording, starting at about 4:20 and mostly ending at about 6:50. They are at their worst at 6:00. I can only imagine the tangle of wires and connections on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial that day, and suspect that to be the root cause of these noises. However, they do not detract from the power of this recording. |
