Note | This is a fascinating collection, mostly because of how poor the bulk of the material is. The first four studio demos, in particular, are god damned silly. The drums are keyboard-generated, and the songs, themselves, are ridiculously bad. Just Another Sunday sounds like a Phil Collins tune (no shit). It's unclear how many Guns were even involved with these demos, because they all sound like a different band with Axl singing. The live stuff is mostly throwaway jammy stuff. They fare better with the covers at the end. Still, this is mostly worth hearing as a comedy disc, because, seriously, those demos are shite. "Unwanted Illusions", indeed. They were wise not to pursue these tunes further. |
