Tech Note I got this note from a knowledgable computer geek regarding this show: The "pops" at the track changes are from the original DAT > CD transfer. Someone, using a P.C based system, recorded the show as one large .wav file into the computer from the master DAT. That's standard procedure. But after that, you must use one of only 2 or 3 programs that will "cut" the large .wav file into tracks using the Red Book Standard. That "Standard" cuts the track on proper sector boundaries. What that basically means is that regardless of where you want the track cut, a Red Book standard will move to the next available sample at the zero-crossing, allowing a "seamless" track transition. Not using the correct software will leave that nano-second pop at the changes. It really gets bothersome on headphones during segues into other songs (ie. China > Rider). Most traders that I know will fix these discs themselves using a .wav editor like CoolEdit PRO or SoundForge. This problem does not occur on PRO systems that don't even use the P.C. Basically it's from someone who had no business doing the transfer to begin with. Just way too many tapers nowadays! I wouldn't stress over it, most who get these discs will fix themselves if it bothers them too much.
