| Note | EXCELLENT soundboard recording from Journey's 1986 Raised On
Radio tour. ***HOWEVER**** - you should know a few things first. First, this is not the full show. This is an FM broadcast, so songs were left out when it was broadcast (I believe at one time it was a Superstar Concert Series show). Second, a few of the songs on here have been edited. Yes, I know I know. This is how I got the CD, is exactly how I'm uploading it. Apparently some of the songs were "trimmed" to fit so many of them on the CD. The songs that are trimmed are: -at the end of "Raised On Radio" the bass/drum solo is cut out. - The end of "Oh SHerrie"/beginning of "Lovin'..." had an extended Perry-vocal/Schon solo that was cut out. - At the end of "Raised On Radio" they fade out quickly where Perry yells "I want me f*cking radio!!". Probably cause this was a radio broadcast. - A Schon solo before "Wheel In The Sky" is edited out. -The editing between songs isn't super, but it's not horrible. I'm guessing it was done to edit out the DJ talking. These songs that are "cut", it actually fades out so at least you get the impression of an album fading as opposed to a brutal cut-off. Also, 2 of the tracks have 2 songs each - 02 has "Stones In Love" and "Any Way You Want It', and 12 has "Lovin'.../Jailhouse Rock". Again, this is exactly how I got the CD. I bought this on ebay years ago long before bit torrent came about and have never had time to "fix" this. There ARE better (more complete) versions of this show out there - I beg anyone who has one to upload it on here! NOW - having said all that, this show ROCKS!!!! You get rare Journey songs live like "raised On Radio" which kicks ass, Perry's rocking solo song "Strung Out" as well as his hit "Oh Sherrie", and a hot cover of "Jailhouse Rock". And since it was an FM show the sound really is awesome. Highlight for me on here is definately the ending trio of songs "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'", "Jailhouse Rock", "Seperate Ways"!!! Listen at the beginning of "Lovin'..." as Steve breaks it down for the audience and tells them "I wanna get on your pony and RIDE", after doing the first verse of the song a cappella. And I dare you not to crank it during the intro into "Seperate Ways" after "Jailhouse Rock". Any rate, like I said, there are more complete versions out there, but until someone is able to upload it on here, enjoy this and rate of you like! |
