NoteI recorded this. Houston's finest punk. Their only actual tour since 1979. I ordered their recent cds in '03 and asked if they'd toured. Soon I was sitting at the computer and arranged their 10 city 11 day Southwest tour mostly thanks to the MRR web site contacts. They did some of their great 79 7"s songs but speeded up. Brilliant. Their show the night before at the Smell in downtown L.A. was one of the finest I've attended in my life, maybe top 3 or 5. Breathtaking. I'd loved them for 25 years and never heard them live till that night and w/ those speeded up hits and their great songs and vocals, man I was in punk rock heaven. This night's show was a tick less fantastic but still satisfying. No question, one of the most overlooked high quality punk rock bands on earth. And they're still around. It's all about Houston for these boys. Christian has been the main song writer, guitarist/vocalist all these years since 1979 (78?). He's gone through maybe 20 to 30 drummers & bassists over these 30 years. This is the first of 2 shows I took my dad to. He really enjoyed it. He was impressed that the unchapparoned crowd of 15 to 25 or so year old punx were well behaved, full of energy and slamming while picking up anyone who fell. One punk asked him if he was a cop. I took a coupla pictures of him with Christian and another with a buncha punx with big mohawks. My wife said it looked like he was standing with a bunch of fish. I'm real glad he went.
