NoteTwo tracks. Saw them in 1997 at Brick by Brick in San Diego, just 3 members. Jad Fair had a mic and some sorta distortion mic used well and played his electric guitar the whole night, not plugged in. On purpose? I'm guessing yes. Very nice guy.

I love these guys. I have all their records, but gave away their most recent one, Hello, it's horrid. I made a hits cdr of their best songs from their first records and then another one of their 90's ones. Fantastic stuff, cocophony on purpose, driving, and great musical ideas relentlessly. Course, if you don't like Jad Fair's voice which is, uh, speaky most of the time and sorta geeky sounding, yer gonna hate 'em. These guys stand the test of time for me cuz the music is so unpredictable and they can really drive musically. They're rockers but disobeying the rules. No music business manager has gotten ahold of them and formed their music for mass consumption. Some of my favorite songs ever come from HJ. I can't get my sea legs on 'em which is a good thing. They keep surprising me year after year.
