Note | Irnonically this is the best Maynard would sound all summer. He's hitting many of the higher pitched melodies (The Pot, 46&2, Sober), and solid on the rest. I don't know what to say or how to analyze it. He just went downhill from here. The band is really pretty tight for their first show in 3 and a half years. There are a few a few instances where they're off, but not way off. And they shouldn't be - except for 3 new songs, it is a greatest hits show.
Clint's recording is damn good. After moving away from (or getting rid of) some obnoxious Stinkfist lovers in the first couple of songs, he attains some good sound isolation. Probably the best of the Coachella recordings. It's a nice example of a Microtrack recording. |
