CommentPreview performance of Jon Langford's multimedia performance piece "The Executioner's Last Songs," a week before its official debut the following week at Milwaukee's Alverno College. The full stage performance incorporated music and spoken-word pieces with a stream of video projections that included everything from images from Langford's paintings, to old home movies from Wales, to footage of Langford reciting poetry while dressed as a pirate in a kayak in a bathroom sink.

(Postcard for the show can be found, for the moment anyway, at: http://magnettheater.com/images/executionerssmall.jpg)

Third disc is a late "acoustic" show that followed, with Steve Goulding joining in on a drumkit consisting of a plastic bucket, a paint can, and a fire extinguisher.

Musicians: Jon Langford (guitar, ukelele, vocals, readings), Sally Timms, (ukelele, shruti box, vocals, readings), Jean Cook (violin, vocals, readings), Tony Maimone (bass), with Barry Mills on keyboard-controlled video. Steve Goulding (percussion) on Disc 3 only.

* Title of Disc 2, Track 5 is a guess, as it was apparently a new song written for this performance.
