Note | This is a recording made by a very avant-garde cassette recorder. The quality is, unfortunately, also very avant-garde.
My neighbour gave this recording to me a couple of years ago to "make it better", but I wasn't into bootlegs or audio editing by then, so I said that it can't be done. I reminded myself of the existence of this recording a couple weeks ago and asked my neighbour if he still has it. As you see, I was kind of lucky. He said that it was done by a friend of his - I don't know who it is and I don't even want to ask. Anyway, it seems like it's been recorded two or three times, so I think that you realise that there are skips. You can identify different parts of the recording by different volume levels. There's some horrible reverb on the first part of the recording (first ~20 minutes) and it seems like it's overdriven, but the second one is quieter and better. Oh yeah, this recording came to me on a CDR. I have no doubts of its source - it's definetely made from the master tape. However, its lifespan is more or less unknown to me. I ripped this CDR with EAC, dehissed it (very little, there's still much noise left) and cued in Adobe Audition 1.5. Well, as far as I know, this is the only recording of this show, so hope you're happy. It's far from perfect, but you can have it. For free. Yeah, it's not complete. Aren't you used to that yet? One last thing - spectral analysis of the original CDR didn't show that this recording was compressed in a lossy way in its lifespan. The only reason why the CDR that you'll get from me has the spectrum ending in 14kHz is because that's the end of cassette tape's frequency response and I simply cut all the sounds higher than 14kHz - they probably came from the amplifier or the sound card, so there was really no use in keeping them. |
