Comment | These are demos for a Toadies record called "Feeler" that was never released. Chronologically, that would place these recordings somewhere in the 1999-2000 era. When this was traded to me, it was done as a two disc set, under the pretext of it being two different versions of "Feeler". It's not clear whether the band was intending to release a 21 song double album (disc one) and had a single disc alternate (disc two), or if they were simply playing with the track orders. In any case, "Feeler" was never released, though the band definately did cut a number of these songs in a more proper studio, and mastered them (see ??/03/39). Some of these songs were re-recorded later, and ended up on their fantastic Hell Below/Stars Above LP, including "Best Of Three", which became "What We Have We Steal" and "Happy Voodoo", which became "Jigsaw Girl". These versions differ greatly from what ended up being released, and from the material later recorded for the un-issued "Feeler" release. |
