| Note | I taped this on 8-track at home as it was simulcast on KGB-FM while I attended the show which was incredible. For the show they had a prop streetlight on the stage. I transferred the show to a cassette tape leaving off the last 3 or so songs foolishly with some other unrelated songs on the tape. Over the years I played the cassette probably 30+ times, often at night when driving to or from L.A. Meanwhile, I misplaced the 8-track. When I started trading Waits tapes in the mid 90's I discovered no one had this show. There was one big Waits trader but he only had like 15 minutes of it and wasn't trading it. A big Waits trader from CO came down (for business anyway) and helped me look for the 8-track. No luck. He took the tape and worked it to make it the best version it could be. So my cassette copy is what's out there in Waits trader land. Maybe one day KGB will rebroadcast that show and someone can get the full, bit healthier version. I spoke w/ Tom Waits last year and asked if he remembered what the date was of this show. He indicated he didn't have that sorta info in his memory. |
