NoteComments: The first 3 discs represent a fresh transcription of one of Jim Powell's cassettes to DAT>WAV>SHN. The previously circulated source sounds has some excessive NR somewhere in the lineage and also looks like it has compression on visual inspection of the waveform.

While this new source is VERY VERY hissy, the high end is preserved and this is to my ears an upgrade.

Its also an upgrade because:

- no dropout in LLR

- no dropout in BEW

- Bertha is complete - yes its the same Bertha that starts out on the other circulating copy- not a splice.

- encore placed at the end of disc 1 to prevent from burning a 1 song 5th disc.

Flaws:

d1t01 - Promised Land cuts in at "train ticket" as on other sources.

d1t08 - Splice at 02:27 as on other sources.

d3t01 - Playing cuts in at "once again now", as on other sources.

d3t01 - small dropout at 08:23 and 09:24 with redundant overlap fixed using SF6.

d4t01 - He's Gone - 0:00 to 0:25 beginning patched from higher gen source

d4t04 - The Other One - dropout @ 12:06 patched from higher gen source

d4t07 - Sugar Magnolia - dropouts @ 7:35 to 7:42 & 7:57 to 8:06 patched from higher gen source

Cassette>DAT transfer by Jim Powell: Nakamichi DR-2 cassette deck>Tascam DA-30 Mk II.

DAT>WAV recording/editing>SHN by Chris Ladner: DAT(Sony PCM-R500) > coaxial S/PIDF > M Audio Audiophile 2496/P4 2.0 GHz > WAV recording/editing (Soundforge 6.0) > tracking (CDWave editor)>sector boundaries confirmed (shntool) > SHN (mkwact).

Disc 4 and the encore are from previously circulated SHN set by Bottiglio and Minches (http://db.etree.org/shninfo_detail.php?shnid=7270) with matching md5s except for d4t07 with had a sector boundary error that i fixed.

Veryy hissy, except disc 4 which is gorgeous!
