I dont know who or exactly how did this to the video, but there are several minute videolags as a result of dropped frames. I could have documented them all, but there?s really no point beyond academica, and I have better ways to waste my time. It?s easily discerable from the logs anyhow, though there are more logged than visually present. Also, two songs or so are cut just before they end, and the sound on Paranoid Android is lowered quite noticably, but my guess would be that it was intentional. I see no rationale in that it would just descend after a framedrop. Otherwise, the quality on these shows are likely the highest in (or soon in) circulation. BBC Prime being the worst of the bunch, but then again, I?ve never seen the 1997 gig outside of this clip; the 1995 however looks pretty much as good as the 2001/2003, taken into account that those two have higher res. But its all nitpicking in the end, it looks great and sounds amazing. I believe this is the complete archive of Radiohead?s Jools appearances, although 2001(again) has "The Bends" and "Knives out" changed for "Dollars and cents" and "Everything in it?s right place" on a second version of the broadcast. The two songs might fit although the dvd is at 3,85 GB already, so if someone out there feels generous, I would accept a trade or some other arrangement helping me to procure the last pieces for completion. If Im totally wrong and there is some additional songs/sets from Jools, I?d naturally be interested to know of that. As always; DVB(M) > DVD. Peace, /Per ...................................................................................................................... ...................................................................................................................... To answer some questions I predict: .:. Yes, this is a pure digital copy, and no, the size is irrelevant compared to a different copy with its different linage. :.: Yes, this is likely the best copy to be found, save for the minute defect inherit to the 2001 gig source. No one can have a resonable claim to a "better" source for any of them, unless in case of 1995/1997 they have the original BBC broadcast?s DVB; or have an flawless 2001 dvb; OR, in some miraculous way has higher source access and the means to do a better transfer than BBC. .:.: No, I will not trade for this; Im sure there are plenty who will once they?ve downloaded it. Feel free to tempt me, I will of course respond to rarities or anywhich items I desire (talking of course only about bootlegs, erm..), such as those elusive two track differing from this 2001 broadcast. However, I concider my time reserved for this hobby of sorts best spent completing the plethora of dvds I have the ability to make, and in many cases the lone HQ source for. (Add ".. which is likely to be distributed" if you have any objections) .:..-. No, I will not do a conversion of this dvd to whichever format you desire. Firstly, I rather put out the outmost perfect copy that I can, in terms of linage and quality; secondly, I have pretty much as little experience doing conversions as anyone, and doom9.net/dvdrhelp.com will do you more good than I could. Also, 2x the bandwith is inversely 1/2 the releases, at least in time and certainly in effort. Sure, I have all the bandwith I want, but wouldn?t you rather want two dvds instead of two versions of the same dvd? ..-...: No, I cannot tell you when whichever odd show/gig/broadcast I?ve proclaimed to have will see it to this place. Maybe I should keep quiet, but I kinda feel like telling someone that there is a better copy to be had, at least in the future. And what better way than to advertise that fact in the thread linked to the posting of the same item? I assume that whomever post something from band x, cares enough about the item to at least be mildly interested in a higher quality copy; if that is the case. ...................................................................................................................... ...................................................................................................................... This is my second DVB/DVD with Radiohead stuff; oddly enough, what got me officially started in this path, releasing the Montreux gig, has only now some odd year almost passed, come full circle. I have A LOT of Radiohead material still, much of which meets the standard set by this dvd. It will be released eventually, if for nothing else but that reassuring feeling of multiply copies at multiply locations. ANYHOW, though I expect few to read through all this crap, I take these last lines as a call out to whomever might be able to record the Rock In Rio 5 episode special once again being aired, now on the new channel TV400. What you need is any way to record the channels in the nordic "Canal Digital" subscription package. At this point, I dont care if you have to do an analogue copy, I just want to be reassured that this wont go missed because I failed to record it the first five repeats(Im serious). The first episode is broadcast again the 17th, and the 4 other are broadcast shortly after. (with rebroadcast close by) If you think you can do this for me, give me a PM/e-mail and I?ll make it worth your time. I will try to record it again, but as obviously pointed out by this plea, Im not that confident that I will succeed, nor can I guess at however they will stop airing this sooner or later. Anyhow, please ignore this at will, shameless though it might be, it?s just a couple of random clutter characters; no fuss, right? Peace, /Per |
