from his notes: " [...] my idea was to compile a set of albums of every song Blue Mountain played live, and present each song as a kind of chronology of the band. That is, as much as possible, I tried to pick out nice, representative versions of each song as they first appeared in concert. Sometimes I cheated a bit, and included some versions that were simply standouts and had to be included. And, I'll admit, sometimes I included some songs with a sentimental memory to me. Now that I'm finally finished, I tallied up five disks with eighty-six songs. And, as far as I know, there aren't too many songs that anyone has recordings of that missed out of being on this compilation. [...]" |
